JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a temporary study and career counselor for the Central Student Health with placement at Nipanskolan F-9.

The Central Student Health in Sollefteå Municipality is a multidisciplinary team consisting of study and career counselors, speech therapists, social workers, school psychologists, school nurses, and special educators for preschool/school. The Central Student Health supports the local student health work in preschools and schools on behalf of the principal, but also plays an important role in the development of student health work at an overarching level. The Central Student Health also coordinates some training and professional development for staff in preschools and schools. Our focus is on preventive and health-promoting child and student health work based on equitable education, increased goal achievement, as well as safety and study peace.

You will be responsible for study and career counseling in the municipality's primary schools together with your colleagues.

You will have contact with students, parents, teachers, and other school staff, as well as representatives from the labor market and the education sector. You will work closely with school management and be part of the school's student health team. You will guide students in their study and career choices and inform them about education, working life, and the job market. You will lead lessons and provide guidance in both narrow and broad senses. The professional group also includes the high school's study and career counselors, where close collaboration takes place regarding interventions and activities in the municipality.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are primarily looking for someone with a degree in study and career counseling. However, we are open to candidates with other relevant education or experience in the field.

You should be able to motivate and guide students during their studies, in preparation for their further studies and future working life. You have a genuine interest in students' development and their role in future society. You are attentive and can adapt your guidance and methods based on the needs and goals of different students and student groups. We expect you to be solution-focused and proactive, combined with good social skills. You create good relationships with students, guardians, colleagues, and contribute to the student's academic and social development in an engaged manner.

We expect you to take responsibility for your task, structure your work process, drive processes forward, and be able to work both independently and in a team. You are well acquainted with current governing documents and ethical guidelines. You actively contribute to the school's development and help us achieve our goals regarding leadership, safety, study peace, and increased goal achievement.
